Who obey dictators?

The Egyptian protest movement: "dictators" did not fully prevail, they could obey commands

Prof. Michel Chossudovsky

The Mubarak regime in the face of nationwide protest movement . Collapse What would offer the chance for Egypt and the Arab world? - "Dictators" rule does not fully obey commands - the same is true for Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria. Dictators are all political puppets. Dictators do not decide. President Hosni Mubarak, Ben Ali was like a conscientious servant of Western economic interests. The protest is directed against the government of the country. The aim is rather to sell the puppet than the puppet master.

The slogans in Egypt are "Down with Mubarak, down" with the regime. So far, no reports on anti-American banners, the ... superior and destructive influence of the USA in Egypt and throughout the Middle East will not be discussed publicly.

The foreign powers who act behind the scene will be hidden by the protest movement. There will be no drastic political change, as long as the problem is not the foreign interference of the protest movement meaningfully addressed. The American Embassy in Cairo is an important political factor, overshadowing the government of the country. The message is not a target of the protest movement.

At the height of the Gulf War in 1991, Egypt became the International Monetary Fund (IMF) imposed a devastating economic program. In return, the United States adopted Egypt billions of dollars in debt for military goods, and Egypt agreed to participate in the war. The resulting deregulation of food prices, the full privatization, and a draconian austerity policies have led the Egyptian people impoverished and destabilized the country's economy. But the Mubarak government was as a "model student" of the IMF praised.

In Tunisia, the Ben Ali government had chosen to enforce the deadly medicine of the IMF, the destabilized over a period of more than 20 years, the economy and drove the Tunisian people in abject poverty. In the past 23 years Economic and social policy from the "Washington consensus" (one by the IMF and World Bank program propagated by "structural adjustment") dictates.

Hosni Mubarak and Ben Ali have been kept in power because their governments to obey the dictates of the IMF and it will implement. Pinochet and Videla, about Baby Doc to Ben Ali and Mubarak dictators of Washington were brought to power. Historically in Latin America were brought dictators with numerous US-backed military coup to power. In today's world they are "free and democratic elections lifted" in the eyes of the "international community" to power.

My message of the protest movement:

Actual decisions are made in Washington, the State Department, the Pentagon, the CIA headquarters in Langley, in H Street NW, headquarters of the World Bank and IMF. The relationship of the "dictator" to foreign interests must be raised. Driven the political puppets, but do not forget the "real dictators" to target. The protest movement should focus on the real seat of political power, they should turn against the U.S. Embassy and the offices of the IMF and the World Bank in the country.

An actual political change can only be ensured if the neo-liberal Economic policy is abandoned.

exchange
a regime should address not the protest movement, the role of foreign powers, including by "investors", foreign creditors and international financial institutions exerted pressure, you will miss the goal of national sovereignty. In this case, it would come only at a superficial "exchange regime" that protects the political continuity.

dictators come and go. If they are politically discredited and no longer serve the interests of their American supporters, they are replaced by new "leader", often from the ranks the political opposition are.

In Tunisia, the Obama administration has already set the scene. You will play a key role in the "democratization process" (which means it should take place so-called fair elections) take over. Furthermore, will the U.S. government use the political crisis to weaken France and to strengthen their own American position in North Africa:

"The United States quickly, the groundswell of protest in the streets of Tunisia estimated and are now trying to use their advantage and to press for democratic reforms in the country and beyond. The leading U.S. envoy to the Near and Middle East, Jeffrey Feltman, came as the first high-ranking representatives of foreign countries to Tunisia after President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on 14 January was overthrown, and called for prompt reform.

On 18 January, he said, only free and fair elections could give the embattled leadership of the North African country of strength and credibility. > I am convinced that we will use the Tunisian example in talks with other Arab governments, "added the deputy foreign minister Feltman. He is now deployed to the North African country in order in the turbulent phase of the transfer of power to offer American help and with Tunisian ministers and to meet representatives of civil society.

[On Wednesday, 26 January,] traveled Feltman to Paris to discuss the crisis with the French leadership, which he wished to reinforce the impression that the U.S. is the leading international protection force for a new Tunisia, the detriment of the former colonial master France ...

The countries of the West had supported the overthrown government of Tunisia for long because they saw them as a bulwark against Islamist extremists in North Africa. Sun praised as the former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld in a 2006 speech in Tunis, the country's development. And the current United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton turned quickly with a speech in Doha on 13 January a, calling on Arab leaders to give their citizens more freedom, or risk that extremists took advantage of the situation. > No doubt the U.S. is trying to position themselves quickly on the good side .... '"

AFP under the headline:" U.S. wants to influence results of the Tunisian riots "(emphasis added).

Washington Will it be possible to bring a new puppet regime in power? This depends to a large extent on the ability of the protest movement, the insidious role of the United States in the internal affairs of the country become the issue and mobilize against it. So far, remained the predominant influence of superpower unmentioned and untouched. Cynically, Obama has even expressed its support for the protest movement expression. Many people from the protest movement is to be made to believe that President Obama is determined to make democracy and human rights, and that he the resolve of the opposition to oust the dictator, who was nevertheless used in the first line of the United States supported.

The hearing of opposition leaders
The interrogation of leading representatives of major opposition parties and civil society in anticipation of the collapse of an authoritarian puppet regime is part of Washington's strategy, which comes in different regions of the world are used. This process is used by foundations based in the USA as the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the Freedom House (FH) is controlled and funded. Both organizations are closely related to the U.S. Congress, and both are notorious for their links with the CIA. The NED is involved in Tunisia, Egypt and Algeria in the events. Freedom House itself supports various civil society organizations in Egypt.

"The NED was set up by the Reagan administration, after the CIA's role in the covert financing of Subversion of foreign governments had come to light, which made those parties, movements, magazines, books, newspapers and personalities into disrepute, the funds were received from the CIA ... As a non-partisan foundation with the participation of the two major parties, but also of the [union federation] AFL -CIO and the American Chamber of Commerce took overthrow the NED funding of movements that foreign governments wanted it but did open, "wrote

Stephen Gowans in January 2011 under the heading" under the guise of 'spreading democracy' What remains ?. "

While the U.S. Mubarak supported the government in the past 30 years, American foundations were with links to the State Department and the Pentagon active political opposition and the movement for civil society to the side. Original Freedom House: "The Egyptian civil society is vibrant, and contained. There are hundreds of NGOs that are dedicated to the expansion of civil and political rights and in a highly controlled environment operates. Are "(Press Statement by the Freedom House)

It's cynical, if Washington considers the dictatorship of Mubarak in power and tolerate the atrocities, while at the same time his critics supports the activities of Freedom House, the NED and other organizations and financed. Under the auspices of Freedom House Egyptian dissidents and opponents of Mubarak was received in May 2008 by Condoleezza Rice in the State Department and Congress. They also met with the White House National Security Adviser, Stephen Hadley, together, that was the most important foreign policy adviser to George W. Bush in his second term.

Efforts by Freedom House, a new generation of "advocates of democracy produce" tangible results PRODUCE, and the program "New Generation" in Egypt was famous in Germany and abroad. Egyptian Visiting scholars from all civil society groups have been received [May 2008] with great attention and recognition, and met in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State, National Security Advisor and known Congress representatives, Condoleezza Rice is the scholarship as "the hope for the future of Egypt." (Emphasis added) (http://www.freedomhouse.org/template.cfm?page=66&program=84)

duplicitous: Chatting with "dictators," fraternizing with "dissidents"

In May 2009, Hillary Clinton met with a delegation of Egyptian dissidents together, some of which are already at the meeting with their Condoleezza Rice's predecessor in the year before were there. These high-level meeting took place one week before Obama's visit to Egypt:

The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton praised the work of a group of activists for the Egyptian civil society with which they had met on the same day and explained that it was in the Egyptian interest in to move towards democracy and more attention to the observance of human rights. The 16 activists met in Washington with Clinton and the acting Deputy Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman, the end of their two-month fellowship, the program of the "New Generation" been financed and organized the Freedom House was together.

Fellows commented on how they saw it, distancing the U.S. government of the Egyptian civil society concerned and called on President Obama, during his Cairo visit in the next week, with young, independent activists for civil society to come together. They also called on Obama to the political and financial support for Egyptian civil society to hold and to help facilitate the work of NGOs in Egypt, which is under the emergency laws in force still extremely difficult.

Fellows said Clinton, in Egypt already growing the movement for greater civil and human rights. American support is urgently needed. They stressed that civil society constitutes a moderate and peaceful "third way" for Egypt is an alternative to the authoritarian elements in the government and the striving for an Islamic theocracy groups (Freedom House, 2009, emphasis added).

During her fellowship, the activists spent a week in Washington where they attended a training session, where you will be trained to stand up for something and to influence decision-making process and were given Insights into the workings of American democracy. After their training they were given the opportunity to meet with representatives of civil society organizations from around the country and share experiences. The activists will complete their program with meetings with U.S. officials, congressmen, and visits to media organizations and think tanks.

(Freedom House, May 2009, emphasis added)

This civil society opposition groups who currently play in the protest movement an important role, are supported by the United States and financed. They serve American interests long term. The invitation of Egyptian dissidents in the State Department and the U.S. Congress also serves to awaken in them a sense of commitment and loyalty to American democratic values. America is presented as a model for freedom and justice. And Obama is held up as a model.

support the "puppet masters" of the protest movement against their own puppets
The puppet masters in the background supporting dissidents against their own puppets? This is called "political levering 'or' manipulation of dissent." It supported the dictator, like the opponents of the dictator, so as to control the political opposition.

The method by Freedom House and the National Endowment for Democracy in the interest of the governments of Bush and Obama assurance that funded by the U.S. civil-society opposition forces not against the masterminds behind the Mubarak regime - and the U.S. government - is aimed. This act

leveraged, civil society organizations as a "Trojan horse" that is integrated into the protest movement. They protect the interests of their backers. Make sure that the protest movement is not supported by the people that deals with the deeper problem of foreign interference in the affairs of a sovereign state.

The Twitter and Facebook Blogger: supports and financed by Washington
have in connection with the protest movement in Egypt, some civil society groups that are funded by foundations based in the United States to the forefront of the protest on Twitter and Facebook:

"activists of the Egyptian Kifaya (> enough <) movement - a coalition of government opponents-m and the youth movement »6 April "organized the protests on the websites of the social networks Facebook and Twitter. Western news broadcasts, according to Twitter seems to have been blocked in Egypt later. "

(Voice of America," shaken protests against the government of Egypt with the dead ")

The Kifaya movement, the end of 2004, one of the first protests against the Mubarak regime organized, is supported by the American International Center for Non-Violent Conflict. Kifaya is a movement with a broad base and has already dealt with Palestine and the American interventionism in the region.

Freedom House itself was involved in the promotion and training of Facebook and Twitter blog in the Middle East and North Africa:

»Freedom House Fellows becoming intimately with the possibilities of social networks on cooperation with donors in Washington, international organizations and the media apart. After returning to Egypt get the fellow small grants to initiate innovative initiatives such as the use for political reforms through Facebook and text message notifications. "(Http://www.freedomhouse.org/template.cfm?page=66&program=84)

" From 27. February to 13 March [2010] were at Freedom House Elf Blogger [by various civil society organizations] from the Middle East and North Africa for a two-week> Advanced New Media Study Tour <a guest, in the context of which the bloggers intensively with the problems of digital security, digital video editing , development of key messages and digital mapping employed. During their stay in Washington and the surrounding area were the fellows also proceedings of the Senate and met with senior representatives from USAID, the State Department and Congress as well as staff of international media such as Al-Jazeera and the Washington Post. "(Http://www.freedomhouse.org / template.cfm? page = 115 & program = 84 & item = 87)

Given the large number of high-level meeting in the Senate, the House of Representatives, the State Department and so it is easy to assess the significance that the U.S. government confers this "training program" for bloggers. The role of social networks Facebook and Twitter as an expression of opposition views in light of the needs of different compounds Egyptian civil society organizations to organizations such as Freedom House, the National Endowment for Democracy and be assessed at the State Department carefully.

The news program BBC World News (which is broadcast in the Middle East), citing quotations from Egyptian Internet announcement, "the U.S. supported pro-democracy groups' funding. And in a secret document of the U.S. Embassy says a report from the Daily Telegraph:

"The protests in Egypt, by the youth movement sixth April-controlled, a Facebook group, which mainly attracts young and educated Mubarak's opponents. The group has an estimated 70,000 members and has used the Internet social networking sites to organize protests and to report on their activities.

reveal published by WikiLeaks documents that officials from the American embassy [in Cairo] in 2008 and 2009 in regular contact with the activists were, which they saw as one of their most trusted sources of information about human rights violations. "(Emphasis added)
The Muslim Brotherhood is

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, the largest section of the opposition to President Mubarak. According to reports, the Muslim Brotherhood Protest movement control large extent. Religious parties are banned under the Constitution, but members of the Muslim Brotherhood can be selected as the "Independent" to parliament, where they represent the largest parliamentary "group." The brotherhood is still

no immediate threat to Washington's economic and strategic interests in the region dar. Western intelligence agencies have been working together with the Brotherhood. British support for the Brotherhood of the British intelligence goes back to the 40s of last century. Since the 1950s, says the former intelligence officer William Baer, "was the CIA given to the Muslim Brotherhood support because the Brotherhood has considerable potential to overthrow Nasser's disposal. " ("1954-1970." Ally, the CIA and the Muslim Brotherhood against the Egyptian President Nasser) The hidden connections to the CIA were retained in the post-Nasser.

Concluding remarks
The fall of Hosni Mubarak had for some years as an option part of the foreign policy plans of the United States. The exchange of regimes will safeguard the continuity, because he [the public and the population] the illusion created, there had been real political change.

With regard to Egypt wants Washington to manipulate the protest movement for its own purposes and replaced by a new President Mubarak docile puppet. Washington wants to protect the interests of foreign powers and continue the neo-liberal economic policies that have driven the Egyptian population in abject poverty.

From the perspective of Washington in the replacement of a regime, the installation of an authoritarian military regime like in the glory days of American imperialism is no longer the only option. A new regime is also the interrogation of political parties, including the left, through the financing of civil society groups and the infiltration of the protest movement and not least the manipulation of elections be used.

Referring to the protest movement in Egypt, President Obama declared on 28 January in a video broadcast, which was also published on YouTube. Not "The government should take recourse to violence," It raises the fundamental question, what is the source of this violence? Egypt is Israel's second largest recipient of U.S. military aid. And the Egyptian military is a power base for the Mubarak regime: "The armed forces of the country and the police are armed because of the more than one billion dollar annual military aid from Washington to the teeth ... If the United States officially designate Egypt as "an important ally," refers to the unintentional on the importance of Mubarak as an outpost of American military operations and tactics of dirty war in the Middle East and beyond. International human rights groups have provided clear evidence that countless> suspect <by American forces in their various (criminal) areas of operation are captured and then managed secretly to Egypt, where they will be strong> <interrogated. The country serves as a gigantic> Guantanamo 'of the Middle East, which is more comfortable as the American public and concealed where one is exempt from legal details concerning human rights "(Finian Cunningham," Egypt: US-backed repression is Insight for American Public, "Global Research, January 28, 2010).

America is not a model for democratization in the Middle and Middle East. The American military presence that Egypt and the Arab world for more than 20 years is imposed, in combination with the "free market" reforms of the actual ground-state violence.

America wants to use the protests to bring a new regime to power.

The movement of the people should give their energies in a new direction: The relationship between America and must "be made clear to the dictator. Put down the puppet of America, but not forget "the" real dictators.

Moves the only regime change at once.

Ends the neoliberal economic reforms.

Close all U.S. military bases in the Arab world.

Forms a truly sovereign government.
