From today I will each week known songs from the Arab and Maghreb (North African) music imagine, for the German-speaking ear, this music is quite strange. I also see it as a contribution to the understanding between peoples and cultures!

Khalliouni Khalliouni (Instrumental)

A song from the Libyan folklore. This track was the opening of the spectacular and unique concert in Paris 1,2,3 Soleils with the three stars Rai Cheb Khaled, Faudel and Rachid Taha.

Khaled & Noa_Imagine

The "oriental" version of the hits of John Lennon, sung in Hebrew, Arabic and English by the Algerian rai king Cheb Khaled and Israeli singer (of Yemeni descent) Noa . The song was used Qanun instrument very nicely.

After Khaled sang this song with Noa to many concerts, he was criticized in the Arab media and in some countries even boycotted just because he sang with Israeli.
